Privacy Policy
The short version
DIAL 50 is run by DIAL 50 LLC. We sell caffeine pouches online, and that's the whole business — we aren't in the data business.
- We collect what we need to send you an order and answer your emails.
- Payments are taken on Square's checkout pages. We never see or store your full card number.
- We use Google Analytics to see how the site is used. You can turn that off in your browser.
- We don't sell your personal information.
- You can email us at dial50team@gmail.com to see, correct or delete what we have.
This page explains our practices. It isn't legal advice, and it doesn't replace the notices Square and Google give you about their own services.
Information we collect
Most of this only exists because you placed an order or wrote to us.
- Order details
- Your name, shipping address, email address and phone number if you give one, plus what you ordered and when. You enter these on Square's hosted checkout; they reach us through our Square account, where our orders live.
- Payment information
- Your card or wallet details go straight to Square, which processes the payment. We never receive your full card number. We can see the last four digits, the card brand and whether a payment succeeded, the same as on a receipt.
- Messages you send us
- Whatever you write when you email dial50team@gmail.com, or message us on Instagram at @dial50pouches — plus your email address or handle, so we can reply.
- Usage information
- Pages you view, the link that brought you here, and general device and browser details. Google Analytics collects this and estimates your city-level location from your IP address. It's how we know which pages are worth improving.
- Technical records
- Our host keeps standard server logs. When you start checkout, our server briefly holds your IP address in memory to limit how many checkout attempts can come from one place. Nothing about that is written to a database.
- Your cart
- The pack and quantity you've chosen are stored in your own browser (under the key dial50.cart.v1), not on our servers. It stays on your device until you clear it or check out.
What we don't collect:
- Card numbers, bank details or anything else Square handles for us.
- Account logins or passwords. Customer accounts aren't live yet; when they are, we'll update this page before they open.
- Health information, government identifiers or anything else we have no reason to ask for.
How we use it
- To take, pack and ship your order.
- To bill and run a Five-Pack subscription, and to email you about it.
- To answer your questions and handle returns, refunds and delivery problems.
- To prevent fraud and abuse, and to keep checkout working (that's what the rate limit is for).
- To understand how the site is used, so we can make it better.
- To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.
We don't run a marketing email list today. The emails you get from an order are transactional: receipts, shipping updates and subscription notices, sent through Square. If we ever start a newsletter, you'll have to opt in, and every message will have an unsubscribe link.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't rent or trade customer lists. We share what's necessary with the companies that help us run the store:
- Square
- Payments, orders and subscriptions. Square hosts the checkout page, charges your card, emails your receipt and is where our order records live.
- Google Analytics
- Website analytics. It receives usage data and sets cookies in your browser, as described below.
- Vercel
- Hosting. Our pages and server code run on Vercel's platform, which keeps standard request logs.
- Google (email)
- Our team email runs on Google's mail service, so messages you send us are stored there.
- USPS
- Delivery. Your name and shipping address go on the label so your order can reach you.
Each of these handles your information under its own terms and privacy notice. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or someone's safety, or as part of a sale or transfer of the business — in which case this policy would follow your information to the new owner.
Your choices and rights
Wherever you live, you can email us at dial50team@gmail.com and ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you.
- Correct anything that's wrong.
- Delete it, unless we have to keep it for a tax or legal reason.
- Send you a copy of it.
We'll confirm we got your request and get back to you within 45 days. We may need to verify who you are first — usually by matching the email address on an order — and we won't treat you differently for asking.
Some states, including California, give residents specific rights along these lines, including the right to appeal if we turn a request down. If we ever deny a request, we'll tell you why and how to appeal it.
To stop a subscription from renewing, cancelling is a billing change rather than a data request, and it's faster. See the subscription terms
How long we keep it
Order records stay in our Square account for as long as we need them to support the order and to meet tax and accounting requirements — generally several years. Emails stay in our inbox until we clear them out. Analytics data is kept on Google's retention schedule for our property. Your cart lives in your browser until you clear it.
How we protect it
The site is served over HTTPS. Payments happen on Square's own pages, so card details never touch our systems. Access to our Square dashboard and team email is limited to the people who run the business. No system is perfectly secure, and we can't promise otherwise — but if something happens that affects your information, we'll tell you as the law requires.
Children
DIAL 50 contains caffeine and isn't recommended for children. This site isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, email dial50team@gmail.com and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page as the store changes — customer accounts, for instance, will change what we collect. The "Last updated" date at the top always tells you which version you're reading, and if a change is significant we'll say so on the site.
